Quotations
Quotations provided by Hippo Food Design are valid for three months from the date of quotation. We work on a first come first served basis for confirmation and reserved the right to decline.
Payment and Confirmation of event
A NON REFUNDABLE deposit of 50% of the total quoted cost is due on confirmation of the event to secure the booking.
Unless otherwise agreed by prior arrangement, all invoices are due for settlement within 14 days of the date of issue, where upon Hippo reserves the right to charge interest @2% above the Barclays Bank PLC on any sums which remains overdue.
Payments can be made by cheque or cash. Unfortunately credit cards cannot be accepted.
If the number catered for decreases within 1 week prior to the event, you will be invoiced for the number previously confirmed.
Variations
Please note that our menu prices are prepared on the basis of specific numbers. The price is subject to alteration depending on the final number of guests. The contents of the menu, decoration or any other items Hippo shall supply are subject to the market availability.
Any variation to the services requested by the client following confirmation must be notified in writing to Hippo not less than 2 weeks prior to the date of the function. Hippo will use its reasonable endeavours to comply with any requests for variations, subject to agreeing with the client any alteration to the quotation which may become necessary. Hippo shall not be obliged to make any such variations.
Hippo will at its discretion, remove any food which it deems to be unsafe for consumption, due to the time elapsed from preparation. Hippo cannot be held responsible for the safety of any food supplied by the client or any third party.
Please note that the hire cannot be adjusted within 5 days of the event.
Cancellation
In the event of cancellation, the following will be charged:
Food, equipment hire, flowers and decorations within weeks – 80% of total cost, within 1 week 100% of quoted cots
If numbered catered decreases within 1 week prior to the event, the client will be invoiced on the number previously confirmed.
Loss and Damage.
The client is responsible for all hired equipment from the time of delivery until it is collected. Any breakages, loss or damage to equipment, however caused will be charged to the client at the full replacement value. The client should, in his own interest, make sure that the hired equipment is insured.
Cloakroom
Hippo is unable to accept responsibility for lost, missing or damaged items.
Complaints
Any complaints must be received by Hippo in writing not more than seven days from the date of the event concerned.
Force Majeure
No Liability is accepted for failure of performance due to strike, lock out, hostilities or any other circumstances outside Hippo's control.
Limitation of liability
No liability is accepted for loss, damage or consequential loss, except to the extent required by law, caused by Hippo's failure to perform its obligation (whether failure is due to negligence on the past of Hippo, its officers, employees or subcontractors or due to any other cause) but nothing herein shall exclude Hippo's obligation to pay compensation for death or personal injury as required by law.
Law of Contract
The performance, the validity, construction and all aspects of the order shall be governed by the English Law and the parties agree to submit to exclusive jurisdiction of the English Courts.
Overtime
Staff costs are charged at £10 per hour and £20 per hour after midnight. |
